Heroes didn’t leap tall buildings or stop bullets with an outstretched hand; they didn’t wear boots and capes. They bled, and they bruised, and their superpowers were as simple as listening, or loving. Heroes were ordinary people who knew that even if their own lives were impossibly knotted, they could untangle someone else’s. And maybe that one act could lead someone to rescue you right back.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend’s or of thine own were: any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.

Tenant Spotlight: Ethos Early Learning Center

MEET: Alex Dubovoy, Founder and CEO of Ethos Early Learning Center

We had the pleasure of chatting with Alex, CEO and Founder of Ethos, and getting a personal tour of his beautiful education center! Ethos is a new model of early education for children between 6 weeks and 5 years old. Looking to enrich the child’s experience, everything at Ethos from the materials, curriculum and environment has been carefully selected to nurture future generations of socially, emotionally, and physically resilient people. Ethos’ teaching approach is rooted in social constructivist theories such as those from Montessori, Reggio, and Waldorf. These teaching styles encourage children as individuals to explore, investigate and manipulate objects and ideas under the supportive guidance of highly qualified teachers and aides. This unique educational approach strengthens the children, parents, and the South Boston community they belong to!

Looking to cater to “the working parent,” South Boston has become the perfect location for Ethos. “South Boston has a community feel,” says Alex. Centrally located on West Broadway, Ethos opened its doors in 2018 and has been growing ever since. Providing an updated experience, regular contact and meaningful interaction between teachers and parents has been beneficial to Ethos’ success. Being such a tight-knit center, it’s imperative to Ethos that parents feel like they are a part of their child’s development. “Essentially we are a community within a community,” Alex tells us. The goal is to build a diverse and secure learning community for the children in their care.

The future of Ethos is to help to unlock the child’s potential and support them in their vital early stages of development. The mission is to provide support for the growth of happy and healthy young minds and hearts, capable of building a better future. To learn more about Ethos and Alex, check out our video!
